Thank you for attending I2MTC 2013!

I2MTC 2013 will be held in Minneapolis, MN, during May 6-9, 2013.  Minneapolis is a wonderful, exciting, lively, beautiful and culturally rich city, offering you, the attendee, a host of activities to enrich your I2MTC experience!

On Monday the 6th, we will have a full day of Tutorials encompassing several fundamental and focused subjects in the areas of Instrumentation, Measurement, and Medical Applications.  Starting in 2012, Tutorials are included in the Conference program for a registered attendee, and therefore there is no additional registration cost for Tutorials.  This is a splendid opportunity for the attendees to take advantage of.  We are recruiting well-known scientists from academia and industry to deliver the Tutorial Program, which is promised to be exciting and technically invigorating.  A one-day Tutorial Registration is also available.

The conference theme for 2013 is “Instrumentation and Measurement for Life”. Given the concentration of various clinics, universities, industries involved in medical and biomedical instrumentation development and research, in the area, we are certain to have a significant level of local contribution to our technical sessions, Tutorials and special sessions.  This is in addition to the regular annual topics of interest to our attendees related to all areas of Instrumentation and Measurement.  We are also planning to have Industrial Tracks with papers focused on industrial aspects of Instrumentation and Measurement including those specifically related to medical and biomedical fields, and significant contribution from our industrial members and colleagues.  Research can merge with the practical applications of industrial technology used every day, to foster the exchange of know-how between industry and academia. The conference also includes special sessions on topics including Technology Transfer and Emerging Methods for Measuring, Modeling and Instrumentation in Medical Applications.

CONTINUING EDUCATION (CEU AND PDH) CREDITS AVAILABLE AT I2MTC 2013!

Paper contests will be held including a Conference Best Paper Award as well as Student Best Paper Awards for both graduate and undergraduate student papers, with cash awards for the best papers.

We are seeking presentations and papers to explore topics relating to Sensors, Transducers, Signal Processing, Image Processing, Measurement Systems, Measurement Applications, Measurement of Physical Quantities, and Industrial Applications with a focus on life science and medical instrumentation.

Prospective authors are invited to submit extended abstracts (3-4 pages) via the Author Instructions page. The abstract should report on original research results of theoretical or applied nature and should explain the significance of the contribution to the research field. The manuscripts must be prepared according to guidelines provided on the I2MTC website.

The extended abstracts will be reviewed by the Technical Program Committee. All papers presented at the conference will be published in the Conference Proceedings and via IEEE Xplore, and all attendees who present their papers/posters are welcome and encouraged to submit a technically-extended version of their paper to the Special Issue of I2MTC 2013 IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement.

Important deadlines are:

October 22, 2012  Deadline for submission of extended abstracts.
December 20, 2012  Notification of authors of paper acceptance.
March 1, 2013  Deadline for camera-ready papers.

We expect a number of industry exhibits, which will facilitate discussions among the exhibitors and the attendees with the hope of potential long-term research and technical collaborations.

We seek company sponsors to partner with us to bring instrumentation closer to those who use this exciting technology.

"We adhere to the IEEE Event Photography Statement and the IEEE Non-Discrimination Policy."

On behalf of the organizing committee of I2MTC 2013, we would like to encourage you to attend this unique conference, and we look forward to seeing you in Minneapolis. I2MTC 2013 promises to be a wonderful venue for you and your students to meet new colleagues as well as renewing your established contacts.
